Questions-answers papers do not require usual essay parts like an introduction with a thesis statement and conclusion. Nevertheless, each answer should have introductory and concluding sentences in each paragraph. It should be strictly to the point, answering the question directly.

Formatting

Formatting for questions-answers is pretty simple:

  • The question with the corresponding number is typed in bold (left-alighned, not indented);
  • The answer is indented and provided below the question;
  • Answers should be supported by academic sources if needed;
  • The required academic style should be used for formatting sources;
  • Questions are not included in the total number of words in the paper.
  • Example

For example, you should discuss the case with ethical problems and answer question. Thus, the paper should look as follows:

* It should have a title page (depending on the required style, APA, MLA, Harvard, Turabian, and so on)

* The actual paper

Title of the Paper

1. What are the ethical issues presented in the case?

The first is the introductory sentence presenting ethical issues (dilemmas requiring the person to choose between two options, where each of them is undesirable). Then the answer should have supporting sentences with evidence of these problems and in-text citations from the case. The last is the concluding sentence.

2. What do you think most managers would do in this situation?

Here, the introductory sentence presents a direct answer what most managers would do. Although the question needs a personal opinion, it requires support from reliable sources. Then the concluding sentence follows it.

3. What would you do?

The introductory sentence introduces your position. The next sentences support it. The concluding sentence comes last.

* References, Bibiography, or Works Cited page.

These simple tips will help to reduce time on surfing the Internet for questions-answers formatting and content.
