What predictions can we make to determine characteristics of work of the future? What skills can people need to secure a high-paid job? These questions may be answered through conducting an analysis based on current trends.

Soft Skills vs. Hard Skills

Considering a highly dynamic pace of today’s world developmemt, both hard and soft skills will be highly valued.

Because of globalization and diversity, workers who will be able to communicate in multicultural and crossgenerational teams, accept respective differences, and provide innovative and creative solutions will be headhuntered most of all.

As for hard skills, the wider and the greater the expertise of the employee, the more successful his or her career may be.

Even taking a look at the nursing field, it is possible to highlight the importance of the following aspects:

  • technology integration, e-health, teamwork,
  • management,
  • advocacy,
  • leadership skills,
  • continuous learning.

So apparently a nurse should not only be good at caring for people, diagnozing properly, and prescribing treatment and management, which are things of primary importance without doubt. However, to secure a high-paid job and to progress further, one should engage in multidisciplinary collaboration, be tech-saavy, and act as a change agent. Therefore, it goes beyond nursing covering HR management, IT sector, and policy.

The same can be said about other professions. It is possible to predict that new jobs can appear at the point of collision of several disciplines.

Writing and Information Products

Furthermore, it can be said that since online business or e-commerce is growing further, the demand for information products is on the rise too. So a combination of writing, IT, and content creation skills is likely to be a basic requirement to move up the career ladder. Finally, without marketing understanding, the job-seeker will be hardly able to present one’s profile.

Conclusion

Overall, it is hardly possible to imagine work of the future without skills at the intersection of different fields, hard and soft, and teamwork skills. Without doubt, IT, marketing, writing, and HR basics plus the main area of expertise will give high chances for getting a dream job.
